New Continental GT

The luxury of spontaneity – the freedom to take to the open road on your own terms. No other car on the road today exemplifies the spirit of life’s grand tour more than the Bentley Continental GT.

The new model sports an even more powerful W12 twin turbo engine, up to 590 PS from 575 PS, and an innovative variable displacement system that creates more power, but with lower emissions than ever before.

Alongside this increased performance is a suite of refinements to create the most luxurious travelling experience. They include a new, more sculpted and sporty steering wheel allowing the driver’s hands to fit, and connect, more closely with the car. There’s an optional semi-aniline hide that forms the enhanced straight-flute seating for an even more luxurious travelling experience. Supercar speed meets handcrafted luxury.

Design

Exterior Design

Creating a new GT coupé allowed our design team to combine inspiration from past iconic Continental models with the most advanced technologies.

The familiar haunch line – a crisp modern echo of the original 1950s R-Type Continental – has sharp, modern radii to create distinct surfaces giving a wide, confident and sporting feel.

These sharp, contemporary lines are only achievable thanks to Bentley’s state-of-the-art facilities and its life-long commitment to producing coach-built cars featuring exquisite details.

Interior Design

Our interior designers have skilfully evolved the Continental GT’s cabin to produce a stylish yet cocooning space. Incredible attention to detail has gone into making the interior as quiet and refined as possible.

The new steering wheel introduces new knurled paddle-shift gear selectors and a new wheel shape to give an even more assured grip. Behind it, the instrument panel and dashboard subtly echo the flying wings of the Bentley motif. Fashioned from the highest quality soft-touch leathers and striking analogue dials that, at night, flood with ‘blood orange’ illumination. The dynamic cockpit area rises from the centre console in the form of dramatically surfaced ’wings’.

For 2016, a new veneer option is available across the Continental range: Dark Stained Madrona, a dark rich veneer which compliments the luxurious interior of the Continental GT.

The GT's distinctive new Mulliner GT Design seats now have the option to be crafted from semi-aniline hides for superior comfort. With front-seat ventilation as well as a state-of-the-art massage system.

Mulliner Driving Specification

The Mulliner Driving Specification adds exclusivity without detracting from the purity of the Continental GT’s design. For the exterior, unique 21" Seven Twin Spoke alloy wheels with a choice of painted or polished finishes develop the sporting theme. Inside, the Mulliner Driving Specification includes quilted perforated hide seats, door infill and rear three-quarter panels with embroidered Bentley emblems on the headrests, while the knurled sports gear lever and drilled alloy sports foot pedals recall Bentley’s grand touring heritage.

For the GT coupé, an indented leather headlining is also part of the Mulliner Driving Specification. A Jewel fuel and oil filler cap provides the finishing touch.

Everyday Practicality

It's rare in the world of supercars to find a vehicle that can offer superb everyday usability alongside such potency.

With the Continental GT, we weren’t prepared to make that compromise. It’s the little things that count. We knew it was just as important to have somewhere to instantly stow your sunglasses, mobile phone, keys or any other item so you can remain comfortable, relaxed and enjoy your coupé’s sumptuous interior.

Performance

Driving Dynamics

Unlike standard two-wheel-drive cars, the Continental GT benefits from one of the world’s most advanced all-wheel-drive systems, ensuring that all the power the 12-cylinder engine generates is utilised. Its ability to accelerate under a wave of torque at any speed, in all weather conditions is unparalleled.

All-wheel drive is not simply about delivering superb traction for higher performance, it also ensures greater safety in all weather conditions. The advanced system can instantaneously adjust the power split between the front and rear wheels depending on the available grip. In addition, the uprated Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system operates alongside the all-wheel drive system to deliver superb reassurance whatever your driving style.

Leather Interior Choice

17 different hide colours are available, but you also have the choice of single - or duo-colour hide upholstery with darker colours recommended for surfaces such as the fascia top roll to prevent unwelcome reflections.

After you have made your choice of primary and secondary hide colours, there's the handstitching to consider. Choose contrast stitching, and a contrast colour thread will be used for doors, seats, rear quarter panels, central console and all armrests. For the ultimate in hand-craftsmanship, you can also choose hand cross-stitching on all four seats and outer armrests.

Wheel Options

There are numerous wheel options available on the Continental GT, with availability in a range of styles, sizes and finishes.

The bold design of the standard 20” Six Tri-Spoke wheel combines strong inner spokes with elegant outer spokes, accentuating the cars stance on the road, whereas the contemporary, progressive style of the 21” Ten Spoke Propeller wheels adds to the cars dynamic look and road presence.

In addition, and exclusively available with the Mulliner Driving Specification, the contemporary design of 21” Seven Twin Spoke wheel is produced using flow forming technology to create a thinner rim, reducing weight for improved comfort and performance.
