Team Lazarus joins forces with Bentley Motorsport

Team Lazarus will take delivery of a pair of Continental GT3s, as the Italian race outfit joins the Bentley brand for the 2020 season and beyond.

Team Lazarus has raced in Europe’s top GT3 series for the past few years, with success in International GT Open and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. After seeing the multiple race victories and championship wins from Bentley’s customer racing teams around the world, the Veneto-based company was keen to explore the benefits of racing with the British brand.

As well as providing two fully prepared 4.0-litre twin turbo-powered Continental GT3s, based on the award-winning Continental GT, Bentley’s technical partner M-Sport will share its engineering expertise and data from its development and testing programme to support the team in reaching success wherever they choose to race.

Tancredi Pagiaro, Team Principal at Lazarus Racing, comments:
“It is with great pleasure that we announce our decision. Bentley is a legendary brand of excellence, bringing together style and passion for the world of motorsport, real connoisseurs of the most elegant cars with racing DNA. The opportunity to visit the headquarters in England and now being able to announce that we will be part of the Bentley and M-Sport family is a result that makes us extremely proud. It also means enormous responsibility for all of us at Team Lazarus. We will embrace the philosophy, protect it and spread it with an Italian heart.”

Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, Paul Williams, comments:
“We’re pleased to welcome Team Lazarus to the Bentley Motorsport family. The team shares our passion for competition, and after a visit to our headquarters, we knew we could provide them with the car and service required to help them reach their potential. Our goal is to be an extension of our teams rather than a bolt-on service, so having a close working relationship with a shared vision is essential.”

Team Lazarus is yet to announce its 2020 programme and drivers but will do so in the coming weeks.
