Bentley announces squads for SRO’s E-sports Series

A total of 14 Bentley Continental GT3s will race in the new SRO E-Sport GT Series, representing four real world Bentley teams and including a mix of real-world works drivers, real-world customer drivers and elite sim racers.

In the ‘Pro’ class races for real world racing drivers, six Continental GT3s will fight for honours including works drivers Seb Morris (GBR) and Al Buncombe (GBR) representing Bentley Motorsport; works driver Jordan Pepper (ZAR) and his real world K-PAX Racing team-mate Andy Soucek (ESP) competing for K-PAX Racing by SIRIO eSports; Scott Malvern (GBR) in action for Team Parker Racing; and Romain Monti (FRA) for Bullitt Racing.

In the ‘Silver’ class, for elite sim racers, Mike Nobel (NDL), Jarkko Torvinen (FIN) and Andre Franke (DEU) will race for Bentley Motorsport following a series of interviews that took place last week. K-PAX Racing by SIRIO eSports will challenge with Philippe Simard (CAN) and Tariq Gamil (IRL/EGY), who won a four-round ten-player shoot-out, and Alberto Garcia who topped the timing sheets of the SRO hot laps shoot-out for the Continental GT3s. Team Parker Racing has Josh Martin (GBR) at the helm and Williams Esports racer Jack Keithley (GBR) will enter as a privateer.

Registration for the hot laps qualifiers to determine the ‘Am’ class grid is now open to anyone who has the Assetto Corsa Compeitizione game and Bentley fans, customers and gamers from around the world are encouraged to enter.

Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, Paul Williams, comments:
“Bentley Motorsport officially entered esports just a week ago and already we have our own in-house team of pro real-world and elite sim racers, plus three customer teams lining up on the grid. The work that goes into this is huge. We are working with all of the Continental GT3 drivers on dedicated Bentley eSports servers almost 24/7. Engineers from both Bentley Motorsport are supporting the drivers and team engineers, and other colleagues from Bentley Motors are also using their free time to support the program.

“We’re working hard but we know the other teams and manufacturers are too, so we have to keep working hard on our set-ups and strategy. The sim racers have proven invaluable to this whole operation. The knowledge and skill they have is outstanding and they are really helping to bring our real world racers up to speed.

“We have strong grids in ‘Pro’ and ‘Silver’ and now the goal is to get some of the best gamers out there to represent us in the ‘Am’ class, which is free for anyone to enter. If we can fight for honours in every class in our first ever esports series, I’ll be extremely proud of everyone involved.”

Assetto Corsa Competizione gamers can sign-up to register for the ‘Am’ class now at www.sro-esport.com with the hot laps session taking place between 26th April and 10th May.
