Team KPax take two victories in Continental GT3 in Blancpain GT World Challenge

The new Bentley Continental GT3 continued its run of victories this weekend, as it scored race wins in both the third and fourth rounds of the Blancpain GT World Challenge America at Virginia International Raceway with its 2018 championship-winning team K-Pax Racing.

The season started well for Bentley’s racing teams around the globe, as both K-PAX Racing and JRM scored wins in their debut events with the new Continental GT3. Proving that the early success was not beginner’s luck, the American outfit showed impressive understanding of its new car and honed the set-up perfectly to take pole position for both races.

In Saturday’s race, Bentley works driver Andy Soucek (ESP) and team-mate Alvaro Parente (POR) recorded a lights-to-flag victory in the number 9 Continental GT3, taking the race car’s tally of wins this season to three.

Not to be outdone, the number 3 sister-car of Bentley works driver Maxime Soulet (BE) and team-mate Rodrigo Baptista (BR) saved its best for round four on Sunday. Starting sixth on the grid, Soulet climbed through the pack and, after a slick pit stop by the K-PAX Racing crew, Baptista pushed hard to the end to record the car’s fourth winning result.

K-PAX Racing Program Manager, Darren Law, said: “There are a lot of great teams and good drivers. It’ll be a tough season – and it’s still early – but we’re happy with the program, and with Bentley and the new car. So, everything is going well!”

Brian Gush, Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, commented: “We took a year to develop the Continental GT3 under race conditions before delivering it to our customers and that has definitely paid off - they aren’t experiencing any ‘teething problems’ and are getting wins straight out of the box. This is exactly how our road car customers would receive a Bentley and we wouldn’t accept anything else from our race car. We are confident the programme will go from strength-to-strength as we look to expand into more championships.”
