The challenge

The current era of ESG reporting creates an illusion of progress with many businesses still unable to make a practical change in the way they operate to have a positive impact on the environment, their communities and broader society. There is a lack of practical training and support to help businesses to transform and to move beyond a risk mitigation mindset to a just and regenerative approach.

The solution

This challenge will be addressed through the creation of the Business Transformation Compass 2.0 which will provide in-depth tools and guidance for business transformation using real-world case studies. BTC 2.0 will focus on sharing practical ways businesses can adopt a Just and Regenerative mind-set in 15 key shifts (eight key functions and seven impact areas) to transform the way that they operate. BTC 2.0 will be scaled through promotion at the leading sustainability fora and through integration into leading business school curricula to reach more businesses and a new cadre of future business leaders.

The impact

We want to change the way that business leaders and future business leaders think, act, and collaborate to accelerate their transition to Just and Regenerative outcomes.

Our partnership (2024/25) aims to:

- Inspire thousands of existing business leaders who access the BTC 2.0.

- Provide open access to the compass, and promote it in leading sustainability fora and via Forum’s extensive corporate network across four geographies.

- Influence the way that future business leaders think through the integration of BTC 2.0 into business school curriculum. This will support future business leaders at a formative time in their leadership development and equip them to deliver future impact.
