Performance

Reset your expectations

The Flying Spur S is no ordinary luxury sedan. Its High Performance Hybrid powertrain – a combination of a turbo-charged 4.0 litre V8 engine and a powerful electric motor – delivers 930 Nm of torque and a maximum power output of 671 bhp. That’s enough to take you from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds) and on to a top speed of 191 mph (308 km/h).

Yet for serious drivers, it will be the car’s dynamic handling that truly sets it apart. Equipped with the Bentley Performance Active Chassis – a suite of chassis systems designed for Bentley’s most performance focused models – it delivers a level of handling and control that should be impossible in a car of its size.

In addition to active all-wheel drive, the package includes Bentley Dynamic Ride, a high-voltage anti-roll system, which drastically reduces movement when cornering hard. Torque vectoring takes things further, with an electronic limited-slip differential helping the car hold the road even more tightly through bends. All-wheel steering is also featured: at low speeds, it shrinks the car’s turning circle, but at higher speeds, it turns the rear wheels in the same direction as the front ones, for smoother lane changes.

The final piece of the jigsaw is a sports exhaust system, which makes the most of the car’s V8 roar – especially in Sport mode. Together, these features redefine expectations of the way a luxury sedan should feel.

    Technology

    More about technology

    Long drives made easy

Adaptive Cruise Assist with Lane Guidance takes cruise control to the next level. Provided you keep your hands on the steering wheel, it acts to keep you in the centre of your lane, while also maintaining a steady speed and a safe gap between you and the car in front. It even continues to work automatically if the traffic slows to a stop and then starts again.

  • Your choice of premium audio systems

The Bentley Signature Audio sound system is installed in the car as standard, however there are two options for any who wishes to take the car’s audio system to the next level: the Bang & Olufsen for Bentley system, with its intuitive user interface and beautifully designed speaker grilles, and for the ultimate in sound quality, the incredible Naim for Bentley system.

  • Connect the devices of your choice

The Flying Spur S features a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot for fast internet connectivity, plus the wired and wireless versions of both Android Auto* and Apple CarPlay**.

  • Predictive Adaptive Cruise Assist

By using data from the navigation system, Predictive Adaptive Cruise Assist can deliver the benefits of cruise control, beyond the highway. It can help you stay within the speed limit, even when it changes multiple times, and it can negotiate bends in the road, junctions and roundabouts.

    More about technology

    Effortless manoeuvrability

Imposing and spacious it may be, yet the Flying Spur S is easy to drive in city streets, thanks to a number of driver assistance systems aimed at reducing the risk of bumps, scrapes or more serious collisions. 3D Surround View, for example, gives you a choice of perspectives from four different cameras around the car, to give you more confidence in tight spaces.

An app store for your car

My Bentley App Studio is an app store for the infotainment system built into the car. It means that, if you prefer not to connect your phone, you can still download and use many popular apps.

Personalisation

Countless combinations are possible

The first decision you will probably make when commissioning your Flying Spur S concerns your choice of exterior finish. When you add together the standard paint range, the extended range and the Mulliner range, you have more than 80 finishes to choose from – including the beautiful new Dark Teal, a metallic mid-blue infused with green.

If you commission your car with iron brakes, you can choose from a range of optional calliper colours as alternatives to the standard red, including Mandarin by Mulliner and Signal Yellow by Mulliner. If you upgrade to carbon ceramic brakes – which offer superior fade resistance, a significant weight reduction and increased durability – you can still choose from either black or red callipers.

Inside the cabin, options include the addition of contrast stitching, contrast piping or hand cross-stitching, as well as a wide range of veneers. They cover everything from traditional gloss and contemporary open pore woods, as well as technical finishes. Many of these choices can be enhanced with new techniques such as metal inlays or laser etching.
