Continental GT Speed Convertible

Take in more of every spectacular journey, from the cabin of the Continental GT Speed Convertible – the ultimate expression of the open top grand tourer.

Speed is embedded in Bentley’s history. The name dates back to the Le Mans 24 Hour race-winning Speed Six. Then as now, the pursuit of performance was balanced by the quest for refinement.

The Continental GT Speed Convertible is a worthy successor. Drive it with the hood down and a new dimension is revealed. You’re no longer an observer of the passing landscape but a part of it, with every aspect of your journey amplified in the open air.

Exterior Design

With its four-layer fabric hood in place, the Continental GT Speed Convertible has the profile of a high-performance Bentley coupe. Yet, once the hood is stowed away, the eye can survey a smooth, uninterrupted sweep of a convertible grand tourer. In this form the clean, confident proportions of the Continental GT Speed Convertible are even more striking: the seamless, superformed wings and crisply-defined body creases create an impression of tension and muscularity, right back to the rear lip spoiler.

Interior Design

The Continental GT Speed Convertible can be commissioned with optional GT Design Seats by Mulliner. With smaller diamond upholstery and a semi-aniline hide option, they are welcoming yet superbly supportive. Switch on the neck warmer feature and a stream of warm air from a discreet vent just below the headrest takes the chill off your drive. The seat massage system includes two lumbar and ten surface cells to keep you alert and relaxed as you drive.

Mulliner Driving Specification

The name Mulliner has been associated with some of the greatest Bentleys of all time, including the iconic 'R' Type Continental of 1952. It's appropriate therefore that the Continental GT Speed Convertible is equipped with the Mulliner Driving Specification as standard. Diamond quilted leather seats, indented leather headlining and embroidered winged 'B' emblems on the headrests add a touch of handcrafted distinction. Drilled alloy pedals, a knurled sports gear lever and jewel oil and fuel filler caps are inspired details from a distinguished heritage.

Performance

Engineering

An ultra-high performance convertible, the new Continental GT Speed Convertible is capable of 0-60mph in just 4 seconds, with a top speed of 204 miles per hour. But drive with the hood down and a new dimension is revealed: the open air, where every aspect of the comfort and power of the GT Speed Convertible seems amplified. You’ll feel it the moment you grasp the restyled steering wheel, flip through the new knurled paddle-shift gear selectors and drop your foot irresistibly downwards.

With optional carbon ceramic brakes, the car has even greater stopping power. Highly fade-resistant, these carbon brakes provide excellent response, even under the most testing driving conditions.

Suspension

By bringing the GT Speed Convertible just 10mm closer to the ground, Bentley's chassis engineering team laid the foundation for an even sportier driving experience. To do so, they changed the springs, dampers, anti-roll bars and suspension bushes. The result is improved body control under hard cornering together with greater agility.

Efficiency

A cutting-edge engine management system, an eight-speed transmission and careful refinement of the turbocharger settings have given the Continental GT Speed Convertible an overall improvement of 12% in fuel economy versus the previous model, with a commensurate increase in tank range.

Continental GT Speed Convertible Black Edition

The Continental GT Speed Convertible Black Edition offers a host of striking colour schemes that visually embody the Continental GT Speed Convertible’s phenomenal performance. Four dynamic colours bestow even more road presence on the already-formidable flagship: Hallmark, Beluga, St. James’ Red and Cyber Yellow.

With its lower ride height, the Black Edition feels even faster – and it looks faster, too. The brightware – which includes headlight and grille surrounds, lower body side strips and door handles – is no longer chrome, but has instead been finished in a brooding, evocative black, with all-black 21" five-spoke directional sports wheels to match. Contrasting black or red brake callipers and optional colour-matched door mirrors bear further evidence of the power that lies underfoot.

This vibrant look runs seamlessly throughout the cabin – exhilaration and elegance co-existing in one sumptuous space. The sports steering wheel features contrast stitching and is hand-upholstered to match the crafted GT Design Seats by Mulliner and the satin finish carbon fibre fascia and console.

A Black Edition interior colour split includes seats and centre console bordered by contrasting leather, available in Porpoise, Beluga, Pillar Box Red or Cyber Yellow, to match the exterior styling accents. Corresponding contrast stitching accentuates the diamond quilting of the doors and GT Design Seats by Mulliner.

Experience the Black Edition to capture the essence, and the spontaneity, of what driving a Continental is all about.
