Continental GT3 takes four podiums in four UK races

The Bentley Continental GT3 raced in four British GT Championship and GT Cup races this weekend, starting from pole position in three races and storming to podium finishes in each, including two wins.

The new-for-2016 Jordan Racing team arrived at Silverstone with confidence, after winning all its races at its Continental GT3 debut at Brands Hatch earlier this month. Jordan Witt (GB) once again qualified on pole and despite settling for second place in race one took a lights-to-flag win in race two.

At Oulton Park a day later, it was the turn of Team Parker Racing, who had two Bank Holiday races to contest. With a pole position in the bag, Rick Parfitt Jr (GB) and Seb Morris (GB) were able to take the Continental GT3’s debut British GT Championship race win in race two, following a third place result earlier in the day.

“Congratulations to Jordan Racing and Jordan [Witt], and to Team Parker Racing, Seb [Morris] and Rick [Parfitt Jr.] for getting such fantastic results for the Continental GT3,” commented Bentley’s Director of Motorsport Brian Gush. “To see the Bentley performing so well on British soil is one of the reasons we returned to motorsport two and half years ago. It’s great to be with these two great customer teams as they achieve success with us.”

The podium results came on the same weekend that Bentley Motorsport took a strong Nürburgring 24 Hours result, finishing in seventh place and beating all other British entries. Unlike any other manufacturer, both Continental GT3s finished the gruelling race, demonstrating their reliability and durability.

Seb Morris from Team Parker Racing said “To take the Bentley Continental GT3’s maiden British GT Championship win is an honour. Our car proved how nimble it is even on a track as tight and twisty as Oulton Park – it was incredible!”

Jordan Witt, driver with Jordan Racing added “Driving the Bentley Continental GT3 at Silverstone is some of the most fun I’ve ever had! It’s like the car was designed for that track. I know I could have won both races but a first and second place is still amazing and I’ve bagged plenty more GT Cup championship points.”
