Bentley races at Silverstone 2019

Bentley Team M-Sport has confirmed its driver line-up for the second round of the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup (11th-12th May) at Silverstone. Bentley is targeting its first podium places of the season on home soil, as its centenary celebrations arrive at the historic home of British Motorsport this weekend.

Following a strong showing at the previous round at Monza, the team has announced an unchanged driver line-up. In car number 107, renumbered this year from number 07 to mark Bentley's 100th anniversary, Steven Kane (GB), Jordan Pepper (ZA) and Jules Gounon (FR) will compete together for a ninth successive race.

The number 108 car will see Alex Buncombe (GB) line up for his second race alongside experienced Bentley Boys, Andy Soucek (ES) and Maxime Soulet (BE). Fresh from victory in the US, Soucek recognises the importance of giving Bentley’s home fans something to shout about at Silverstone.

“Racing for a legendary British brand in its centenary year at the home of British motorsport will be a really special occasion for the team and its fans. We know we have the car, the team and the drivers to deliver a strong result, so it is now down to us to go out and make it happen,” Soucek commented.

Recent success for the new Continental GT3 will further motivate the Bentley Boys. JRM Racing’s commanding victory in the opening round of the British GT Series at Oulton Park and K-PAX Racing’s impressive start to the GT World Challenge America, taking three victories in the first four races, have clearly showcased the potential of the second generation Continental GT3.

Brian Gush, Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, said: “Our home race is always special, and in our centenary year this is especially so. As a team we are pleased with the performance developments the Continental GT3 has made this year, which have been evident in recent race results. We are now fully focused on securing the best possible result at Silverstone in front of our home crowd.”

The second round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, the 3H of Silverstone, takes place on Sunday 12 May at the Silverstone circuit. Fans can follow the action on Twitter using @BentleyRacing and on Instagram using @BentleyRacingOfficial.
