Bentley reveals line-up for Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014
Contemporary and heritage Bentleys on show in impressive Bentley presence
Bentley reveals an exciting line-up of cars for the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed (June 26-29). Power and dramatic speed will be showcased by the new Bentley Continental GT3 race car on Goodwood’s famous hill run throughout the three day Festival. The 600 bhp GT3 is primed to spearhead the company’s return to top-level motorsport in the Blancpain Endurance Series in Europe this summer.
The new Bentley Continental GT V8 S will make its Goodwood debut. Also powered by Bentley’s acclaimed twin-turbo 4.0 litre engine the Continental GT V8 S takes Bentley’s advanced V8 platform and pushes it even further, with a 0-60 mph sprint time of just 4.3 seconds. Goodwood Festival of Speed crowds will be able to enjoy this model’s distinctive V8 full throttle soundtrack during the twice daily Supercar runs.
Legendary Bentley performance from another era is showcased with the appearance of the Speed Six Bentley, affectionately known as ‘Old Number 1’. ‘Old Number 1’ won Le Mans in 1929 and 1930 with Woolf Barnato partnering Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin (1929) and Glen Kidston (1930) as well as winning at Brooklands This unique racing car will be joined by two more Speed Six Bentleys, ‘Old Number 2’ and ‘Old Number 3’ - rarely seen together since their racing days, these three fabled Bentleys will be reunited at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The new Bentley Flying Spur engine option, the Flying Spur V8 will also feature on the Bentley stand in its Goodwood debut.
