Graduate Q&A

What degree will I need?
A 2:1 or above in a relevant subject. Further details will be available on each of the vacancy descriptions.

If you’re interested in my application what happens next?
Firstly, you will be asked to complete verbal and numerical tests online. If you’re successful after that, you will be invited to take part in a telephone interview. Further evaluation at our assessment centre follows for those successful in the telephone interview. Details of what to expect will be sent with your invite.

Where will I be based?
In Crewe, the home of Bentley, although International Placements are certainly encouraged.

Do I need to speak any languages?
In today’s global market it helps! German would definitely be good but don’t worry: unless we specifically ask for it in the vacancy description, you can learn through an evening class here at Bentley.

What will my first week be like?
Graduates join us in October each year. Your first week will be packed with induction, team building and lots of networking opportunities.

Do I have an input into the programme?
Absolutely. You are all treated as individuals with individual placement and development plans. You will also work closely with your peer group on a number of activities to support your personal development.

Will I have a support network?
In our experience your peer group become the best support you can have. However, when you need direction and advice your sponsoring manager will be there to steer you in the right direction. We encourage you to pursue full membership of your professional institution and will provide a mentor to ensure you achieve your goals. The Personnel team will also work closely with you to ensure the two year programme is a success.

Which departments do you offer graduate vacancies in?
You might be thinking automotive? Must be engineering? Yes, we offer placements in various Engineering departments -  but we don’t stop there. Think Sales & Marketing, Finance, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, Pre-series Centre, Information Systems and Personnel and you’ll be on the right track.
