Apprentice Q&A

What qualifications will I need?
We have so many different apprenticeship opportunities that the qualification requirements vary. You will be able to view the exact requirements for each vacancy when they are advertised during our annual recruitment process. You can appreciate that we receive a lot of applications for our apprenticeship programme, so good grades really count!

If you like my application what happens next?
Firstly, all successful applicants will be invited to complete verbal, numerical or engineering tests. If you are successful at this stage you will be invited to an assessment centre. This will involve completing a number of exercises where you can demonstrate why you would make an exceptional apprentice.

Where will I be based?
In Crewe, the home of Bentley.

You mentioned qualifications; can you tell me more about these?
You will complete NVQ’s at Level 2 & 3 and a BTEC in a relevant subject.  Further education, such as a Foundation Degree or Degree, is also possible and we can discuss that when you start. If you are on the Higher Apprenticeship you will complete a Level 4 NVQ alongside your Foundation or full degree.

How long does the apprenticeship programme last?
Between 3 – 4 years. We will discuss your timing plan when you join us.

Do you only have apprenticeships in Production and Engineering?
No, our apprenticeship programme has been recognised for offering placements in most areas of the business including Quality, Purchase, Logistics, Finance, IT, and Sales & Marketing.

What happens at the end of the apprenticeship?
We can’t guarantee a permanent position when your apprenticeship ends. However, we are committed to our trainee programmes and every effort is made to find positions for our best apprentices.
